Welcome to the privacy policy for Bulk Image Editor & Optimizer ("the App"). Bulk Image Editor & Optimizer is an app for the Shopify platform. This document explains what we collect, how we use it, and how we protect your information. We design our product with privacy-by-default and keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the service.
To provide our services effectively, we collect Shopify store details such as the store's name, URL, and product images.
Our App does not collect personal customer data such as names, contact information, or order details. We prioritize user privacy and do not store or process personal customer information.
To help merchants understand how images perform, our theme app extension anonymously collects limited storefront interaction events (only when the theme app extension is enabled in your theme settings):
For each event we store only the following minimal fields:
We do not collect page URL, referrer URL, IP address, user agent, device fingerprint, names, emails, addresses, payment data, or any sensitive personal data. The session ID is a random token tied to the browser, not a real-world identity.
We gather high-level App usage telemetry to improve stability and performance. This may include feature usage counts, request volume, and error logs. We avoid collecting personally identifiable information in these logs.
If you choose to connect your Dropbox account with our App, we will access and download images from your Dropbox as per your instructions. We use this data solely to process images (including resizing and compressing them) and upload them to your Shopify store. The downloaded images will be immediately deleted from our servers after being uploaded to Shopify.
If you upload images directly in the App, we process these images only to upload them to your Shopify store. Uploaded images are deleted from our servers immediately after the upload to Shopify is complete.
You can disconnect any connected source (e.g., Dropbox) at any time. Once disconnected, no further data will be accessed from that source.
We take the security of your data very seriously and implement a variety of measures to protect your information:
Encryption: All data transmitted between our servers and connected services (e.g., Dropbox) or the App upload endpoint is encrypted using industry-standard protocols (e.g., TLS/SSL). Any sensitive data at rest is encrypted using advanced encryption algorithms.
Access Controls: Access to your data is strictly limited to authorized personnel who require it to operate the App's core functionalities. All access is logged and monitored to ensure compliance with our security policies.
Data Retention and Deletion: We only retain your data for as long as necessary to provide the App’s services. Images downloaded from connected sources (e.g., Dropbox) or uploaded through the App are temporarily stored on our servers during processing and are deleted immediately after they are uploaded to your Shopify store. No residual copies remain after deletion.
Regular Security Audits: We conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure that our data protection measures remain effective and up to date.

We strictly limit the use of data to the core functionalities of the App. Specifically:
No Advertising or Profiling: We do not use your data for advertising, user profiling, or any other non-functional purposes. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing or promotional activities.
No Secondary Uses: The data accessed from your connected sources (e.g., Dropbox) or uploaded in the App is solely used for processing product images as per your instructions. We do not retain or use this data for purposes beyond providing or improving the App's services.
You have the right to control your data and how it is used:
Data Access and Deletion: You can disconnect any connected source (e.g., Dropbox) at any time, and our App will no longer access data from that source. You can also delete images you uploaded in the App UI at any time.
Revoking Permissions: You can revoke our access to a connected source (e.g., Dropbox) via the provider’s settings at any time. Once access is revoked, no further data will be retrieved or used by the App.
We retain data only for as long as necessary to provide the App and for legitimate business or legal purposes. As a guideline:
We do not share, transfer, or disclose your data to third parties except as necessary to provide App functionalities, under strict data use agreements that prioritize user privacy. We adhere to legal obligations and will only disclose user data if required by law.
